MoveOn.org Not Captioning Videos

Noticed that MoveOn.org wasn’t captioning the videos they were sending out in their mass emails.

So I sent them an email just a few minutes ago:

I’m a blogger at DonCullen.net. I am deaf, am a member of the California Association of the Deaf, National Association of the Deaf, and the World Federation of the Deaf. I am also a member of the MoveOn.org organization.

I’ve noticed that every video MoveOn.org has released thus far up to this point has been uncaptioned.

So I’m emailing you to inquire as to your intentions regarding captioning your videos, and also if your choice not to caption them was intentional, I’d also like an explanation.

I’ll be reporting your response back to the deaf organizations I am currently a member of, as this issue is also of interest to them. I will also be writing about this in my blog. It is my most sincere hopes that this was unintentional, that you would be more than willing to ensure all further videos are captioned.

Regards,
Don Cullen

Now to await their response. Hopefully they won’t give this issue a polite brush off like every typical organization out there.
