My Trip to Fremont
Nathan Kester generously let me crash at his place for the night before the Pleasanton DeafNation Expo 2008 event. He told me Viable was hosting an event at the City Beach recreational facility, and that he was going there to meet up with a few friends of his. I decided I’d go too. As soon as I got there, they charged $5 at the door before I could get in. I had gone there before at another time, and it was free to get in. I was surprised, but no complaints from me. I paid $10 for me and my friend Jak to get in. I got to see an old friend of mine, Joseph Davis. It was great to be able to catch up a little with him. A friend of Nathan Kester’s, Mayumi Iwata, told me she also read my blog. I asked her what her favorite article was. She said she loved the article I wrote about Jak changing my life. Mayumi, thanks for correcting the spelling of your name! I also met Humberto Guzman, another old friend of mine and found out he also reads my blog. It was good to know that my blog was being read; I had assumed that almost nobody ever reads it. That motivated me to write more often! As always, feel free to suggest stuff I should write about. Here’s a quick and brief profile on three of the people (all of them are deaf):

Humberto Guzman lives in Riverside, California and works for Hands On VRS (HOVRS) and is a passionate and quite knowledgeable employee. I observed him interacting with event goers at the DeafNation expo and exhibited considerable charms and skill in handling them, and had no problems interacting with them. If he chooses to remain with HOVRS and is aggressive in his work performance, I suspect he will be a rising star in the company. |

Joseph Davis, an avid blogger/vlogger, lives in Fremont, California and works for California School for the Deaf (Fremont) as a transportation aide and for Ohlone College (Fremont) as an ASL Lab assistant and ASL tutor. If you’re in the east bay area and looking for an ASL tutor, you’d be hard pressed to find one more proficient than he is! He’s absolutely addicted to ASL in all forms, especially in storytelling. He’s also an excellent artist. |

Nathan Kester, an Google employee with arcane code constantly swirling around in his head, has a passion for life and loves enjoying life to its fullest. He lives in Fremont, California. He enjoys golf, basketball, football, and snowboarding, and loves to work out daily. He’s most certainly very fit and in shape! He’s also an avid MacBook pro user, owns a Linux server, enjoys music, and is also a blogger. |
I also got a chance to interview Cary (a HOVRS employee) about the MVP and also got a chance to play with the MVP a bit. I will be writing about the interview and my experience in another article. Anyone got a CSDVRS videophone product I can test and write a review on for my blog?
